Back up first. Never skip this. You can choose external storage or cloud backup.
Turn off the computer and unplug the power cord. Locate the motherboard's 2.5-inch drive bay or M.2 slot.
- If you're installing a SATA SSD, connect a SATA data cable between the motherboard and the drive. Don't forget to plug in the SATA power cable from your power supply.
- For an NVMe M.2 SSD, simply insert the drive into the M.2 slot and secure it with the mounting screw.
